Happy New Year, Pony Riders!
 
We’re kicking off 2026 with an issue full of inspiration, adventure, and a little bit of cheeky fun, just like our ponies! This issue celebrates everything that makes Pony Club, riding, and the pony world so special: friendship, learning, and the joy of spending time with our four-legged friends.
 
First up, we take a closer look at Matamata Pony Club, a small but mighty club nestled just outside Matamata in the beautiful Waikato region. 
 
Speaking of young riders doing amazing things, we meet Cooper Lonergan, a 15-year-old show jumper who’s already competing at heights of 1.20m in Junior Rider classes. 
 
We also love celebrating the personalities and adventures of our youngest riders. Meet Izzy and her ponies, Boy and Razzle, and Eva with her buckskin pony Pan, who share all the fun and heartwarming moments that come with riding.
 
And for those looking to understand their ponies even more, we’ve covered a day in the life of Lily Ramakers, a bodywork expert, showing how keeping your pony’s muscles happy and healthy can improve riding, performance, and even mood!
